Can anyone point me to a doc or web site that will tell me
unneeded services that I can disable on a Win2k Domian
Controller?

Thanks

Well, "unneeded" means different things to different people.....is this a DC
only (i.e., not running Exchange, SQL, ISA, etc.)?

Tis DC is a GC used for authentication only.....there is
no apps on it. The concern is two fold....are there
services that are using cpu/memory resources and
security..do I really need SMTP running?

Thanks

check out this two docs (they are valid for 2003 too). They provide a lot of
info on what and how to secure AD and which services can be disabled on DC.
Of course, like Lanwench said, it depends on what you are running on DC so
this doc assumes a clean DC server.
