I assigned a password to my pp03 presentation not allowing anyone to modify my presentation but
the print button or command stayed highlighted allowing someone to print off my presentation is there
anyway to disable the print command in powerpoint 2003 using the password protection ??

No, but even if you could disable the option they could still print the
slides. Anything that is displayed on my screen can be printed via the
Print Screen key. It's kind of like being the author of a book. If you
don't want anyone to make a copy of your work, you don't show it to them.

Hi,

You can use the new Information Rights Management feature in Office 2003
(Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) to provide more granular control over
what authenticated users can do with a file. This includes whether or not
somone who can Read or Change a presentation can also print that
presentation.

To control permissions for the active document choose: File -> Permission
-> Do Not Distribute...

The More Options of the permission dialog allows you to provide additional
access settings for the entire file including:

* Specify expiration date (presentation cannot be viewed after specific
date)
* Control whether users with read-only access can copy content
* Control whether content can be accessed programmatically

For more information about the Office 2003 Information Rights Management
see:

I hope this helps.
