Disabling Paste In Datasheets

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the paste function into new
lines in a datasheet view of a form? I know that I can remove it from the
menus by using my own menus. But users will still be able to click CTL+V to
insert new lines that they have in their clipboards. I have some users
pasting hundreds of lines in and I would like to encourage them to use a new
import method instead of pasting by disabling that function. On a normal
form view you can turn off the record selectors to prevent users from
selecting the whole record. This is not possible in a datasheet though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Karla.

You can easily prevent users from pasting new records into a form,
regardless of whether the form is in datasheet view, single form view, or
continuous forms view. Just set the "Allow Additions" Property of your
datasheet form to "No."

You won't have to create a custom menu to remove the "New Record" menu item
from the "Insert" menu, because the "New Record" menu item will become
disabled (greyed out) as soon as you change the form's "Allow Additions"
Property to "No." No new lines will appear in the datasheet view to enable
the users to paste data into the form to create a new record, either.

HTH.
