Steve

Hello,

In the default domain policy, I have disabled
solitaire and other games to not run system wide on 800
pc's. It seems that it works on some workstations and not
on others. I have rebooted these machines and also used
the secedit command and some will obtain the restricted
setting while others do not. And the ones that do get
locked down seem to end up not locked down after a period
of time. It is working very sporadically. I have double
checked the directory and checked the dns servers and
logs. They have all came back clean of errors. Has
anybody had this problem and could someone please point
me in the right direction? We do have multilple v-lans on
our network. Could this be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

some hints:
check for conflicting policy's (nr 1 disallows games, nr2 applied later
allows the games)
maybe the policy works fine, but the user can still play a game because
he/she is a local workstation admin.
use gpresult (from the resource kit) to check what policy's are applied for
a user. do keep in mind that a user has to have access to the command prompt
to execute gpresult.exe
