I am dealing with a corrupt file in the Event viewer. It is the System event
logfile that has become corrupt.
According to Kelly's Korner I have to disable the Event Viewer, then delete
the file in question, and start up again.
The question is : How do I disable the event viewer ?
I can't find anything about this anywhere.
BTW I use Win XP Home.
Thanks,
Frankie.

Frankie, I think it is the event log, not the viewer you want to
disable.

That is a service. Many ways to access services. One is Control Panel
-> Performance -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Event Log.
Disable it, then reboot. Do your thing, then don't forget to reset it
to automatic when finished.
