Disabling autoplay with Scanner

My colleague's XP machine is set to launch the Windows canner wizard
automatically when I right click on the scanner in My Documents and select
'Scan'.

How do I disable this so I'm presented with the list of possible programs
which I can launch?

Hello Trent,

I am sorry i do not have a scanner installed here to try this out, but you might want to right click
on the scanner icon and select properties. Flip to the 'autoplay' tab and select "Prompt me each
time to choose an action".
