Disabling Anti-Spyware

I'm hoping that you just mean the real-time protection. For that, see the
workaround paragraph of this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892375 End users may be prompted to allow or
block administrative actions that originate from a central management tool
after they install Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) on a computer that is managed
by Systems Management Server 2003

If you mean something more than that, but less than simply uninstalling, say
more.

I would like to disable the entire program without
uninstalling. We are nearing the end date for the app.
and instead of uninstalling the program on all company
machines I want to silently disable the program so my
users are not prompted with the July 31st message. I
usually disable a program by entering a number in a
registry key for that program. (i.e. - 0 = On or 1 = off)
I don't want to uninstall. I want to shutdown completely
or disable it without clicking on the tray icon.

Start msconfig.exe and deselect gcasServ on the last tab (I don't remember
exact english name for that tab - Autostart ?)
If you would like to enable it again run msconfig and select it again.

I hear you. I suspect there'll be another alternative, but let me see what
I can find out.

MSCONFIG just takes MS anti-spyware out of the run key.
Then if you start the program again it will launch and
start. I want to disable it so it will not launch or
until we get the latest version of it after it expires.
I'm lloking for the registry keys to shut it down
completely.

Of course, it is.

Looks illogical to me to start manually an application, when you want it to
be disabled, but...

Create then a local policy (limiting software use) that forbids using MSAS
execituve files.

I'm hoping that the current process of updating takes care of the original
issue for you. If this isn't true, let me know. I have to admit that the
process seems very slow. On about 3 dozen machines I've spotted 1 offer of
update which didn't, in fact, happen.
