Disabled Messenger - OE starting slowly?

Hi Andrew,

This is actually poor advice, because after you delete this key, you're going to start
getting errors in your Event Log.

Instead, as a quicker and better solution (which doesn't entail deleting registry keys), you
could just import this one:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg

However, Windows isn't going to have a horrible death or anything because this key no longer
exists, so it's really not that critical; I'm simply pointing this out for reference
purposes.

Hi,

It's really not that bad -- sure, Remote Assistance, Whiteboard and Application Sharing won't
work (as well as some applications which require Messenger might freeze up or otherwise not
load), but some people don't use this functionality and there are some legitimate reasons why
a person would want to remove it.

Plus, they can always reinstall it if they require one of the above functions, obviously
removing as a solution is a last resort in most cases however.
