How can I keep my Win XP screensaver from starting up during dvd playback
with ATI's MMC?

Thanks,

Jason

Turn off the screensaver. Right click on a spot on the desktop then on the
menu - click properties - then click the none for the screensaver. Reverse
to turn it back on.

Is there a way to do it besides the obvious and cumbersome way presented
below?

why

you have to do it this way???
its the way everyone does it.

Cu8mbersome and obvious possibly - but its the way millions of people do so
we must all be stupid or is it just you?

If you want it automated which is something I suspect from your lack of
enthusiasm to click a couple of buttons then program something to enter the
registry and clear the registry setting.

Otherwise no.

Since I have an AIW and I am not physically by my computer, I would prefer
not to have to go to the computer every time I watch a DVD. I imagine from
your response you also forgo the use of a remote on your TV. I laud you for
your active lifestyle and hope to someday be able to judge others on such
little information as you have done!

Given that other DVD programs (WinDVD and MS Media Player) don't trigger the
screensaver, I had hoped that ATIs MMC was well-programmed enough to allow
the same convenience.

the screensaver is largely redundant with today's monitor technology. you
just don't get screen-burn any more. turn off the screensaver altogether:
you don't need it
