How do i disable the pagefile in win2000 without it telling me i have no
virtual memory every time i boot up.

Why would you imagine running with no page file would be good?
Just because you have a large amount of ram doesnt mean you dont need the
page file

Page files are an archaic and stupid concept on systems with a large amount
of RAM. How could you possibly think otherwise? Obviously you don't
understand the concept of virtual versus real memory. You might want to stop
by your local clue store amd make a purchase.

and what would I purchase?

Colon Terminus your statement " Page files are an archaic and stupid concept"
shows your ignorance concerning pagefile operations. Appling that ignorance
to server operations again shows the lack of understanding of server
operations, management and planning.
And to be rude on top of it... there is no excuse for that.

Once you understand how and why paging was designed into ALL systems, not
just MS OS's, you will find that "right sizing" and proper placement of the
pagefile can go a long way for server performance.

From my experience you can't. In addition it seems 20meg was the smallest I
could make it.
