How can I disable the Enable Offline Files option on the Offline Files tab
of the Folder Options. This setting is making my windows xp clients really,
really slow, and is generating userevt 1525 in the event log, each time user
log off and then log on without rebooting.

I found the User -> Administrative -> Network -> Offline Files area in a
GPO, but I am unsure how to disable offline files all together, not just the
option to "Disable user configuration of Offline Files" or "Disable 'Make
Available Offline'" or "Prevent use of Offline Files Folders"

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

First, we should upgrade the Group POlicy of the Windows 2000 for the
Windows XP. We can do it as the following article.

307900 Upgrading Windows 2000 Group Policy for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307900

Then, we should have the "Disable user configuration of Offline Files",
"Disable 'Make Available Offline'" and "Prevent use of Offline Files
Folders" options in the group policy editor. We can create the policy and
apply to the clients with the 3 options enabled. Then, the offline folder
will be disabled on the clients.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!

Sincerely,

Steven Liu
