Help!!!

I want to disable or completely remove my recent document
folder. I want windows to stop putting links or whatever
in my recent document folder.
I am using MatLab to run mathematical programs and do data
analysis and whatever files i have on my MatLab workspace
are being saved in my recent documents folder as links of
50 sometimes 100MBytes long. That corrupts my profile and
makes login nightmare.
Dont tell me to go back to Linux, i just came from there.

Thanks

Ilias,

If you want to disable the RecentDocs feature entirely, see:
Disable Recent Documents History:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/545/

Doug Knox has written a script for the same:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/docshist.htm

The above tips disables the RecentDocs history entirely. If you just wish to disable a particular filetype [not to be added to recentdocs history], reply back with the file type [extension]

R-click Start, choose properties choose "customize". On the Advanced tab,
un-check the box at the bottom, "List my most recently opened documents".

Hi JAX,

That just hides the Recent Docs from Start Menu. But XP still adds recent documents to the "recent" folder. Just FYI.

Thanks Ramesh, I'm afraid I "short read" the OP.
