Hi
I tried using active directory's group policy to hide the drive contents from user. But it fails to work as user can create shortcut(on desktop or their documents folder) to c:\ to list the contents. Is there any way to prevent user from creating shortcut or hide the drive??

I did not use prevent access to drive as user needs to access to roaming profile as well as some applications in the system. I can't disable right click cos user need to use it. Pls help
Thanks in advance.

I have an idea for you. i can't gaurentee it will work but..
you could restrict the user from the root, and block propagation to the dirs the user will need to access, share them (append share name with $ to "hide"), and grant them appropriate perms. then map net drives(with a logon script) to those folders with permissions the user can meet, and point all your shortcuts (including profile path) through them, to the allowed dirs. if you have to do this for more than one user, just make one of the drives the profiles root, and another the app files root(just restrict perms on app dirs they shouldn't have). not really all that secure at first and will need tweaking.

hope this help
