help!

hey, i've been trying to figure out how to get IE6 to
stop autosearching for unknown url, instead of just
displaying the page that tells you there's an error and
suggests checking your internet settings. when my modem
cuts out, the page forever keeps switching between two
search engines, rpsearch and something else, said to be
powered by iGetNet, and it's annoying and i would prefer
to just get the error page like in the old IE5. any
suggestions? thanks.
