Does anyone know how to hide the Tools Menu? I can hide other menu but not
this one. Or better yet how do I hide the whole Menus toolbar?

Hi Navar :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Thank you, but none of these helped. The Tools Menu across the top of
Internet Explorer is what I need to hide. I can hide Favorites and File but
not Tools. I would like to hide the whole Menus Bar.

Hi Navar :-)

It may be a bit mroe than a one-two click. Try the following information
and see if works for what you want to do

Hi Navar,

Well, I do not think you can disable the WHOLE Tools menu, but I believe the
option you are most concerned about, the Internet Options dialog, is what
you are primarily interested in disabling.

If that is the case you can do so by using Group Policies. Look for the
'Tools Menu:Disable Internet Options... menu option" in your GPO under "User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer\Browser menus"

Hope that helps.

Thats a cool thing but doesn't work for me. That looks like something that
could eat up alot of my time playing with but work calls.

Here is the back ground on what I am doing.
Using GP I need to lockdown some workstations. The generic logon user only
needs to have access to one application and IE. The application is not part
of Windows. But when a normal user logons they need to access all installed
application example: word, excel, outlook... I can lockdown the desktop
pretty good so they only have access to the two apps but from IE the user can
can go Tools\Mail and News\Read. This launches Outlook or the wizard to use
Outlook. Not good. If i could hide every under Tools that would work too.

Hi Navar :-)

W'll.. you said you wanted to *remove* the toolbar.....<vbg> But, if you
can deal with what can be done without a lot of work, then maybe the
following will help:

First of all, you can go to
View>Toolbars>Customize
and remove any or the toolbars you want from the toolbar.

Removing the toolbars are easy, it is the menu bar that I am having problems
with. I can remove the File and Favorites menu.

I'm sorry, your subject title says Disable/Hide IE Tools Menu. That
information, and more, has been offered here, and I have also provided a
sample for removing the menu, which is not so simple. I am afraid that
complete removal of the Menu bar is outside my scope of knowledge and
experience, but, perhaps there are others here who have such a code they can
give you to save you the time.

Good luck with your project. :-)
