Disable .DOC, .PDF auto-opening

Hello,
is there a method to disable automatic opening of such documents as .DOC,
..PDF etc. I would like to make IE to only offer download instead of opening
those documents in the window.

Tools | Folder Options | File Types
Find the association for that file type and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download".
