I want to disable the prompt that appears when I close all browser windows
saying, "Do you want to close the connection to etc......?" yes or no

I am running Windows 98/IE6

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'm running WinXP but I believe it should still be in the same place:

In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.
Highlight the connection and click Settings.
In Dial-up Settings click Advanced and uncheck the box next to
"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".

Try the following and see if it helps:

This one is for IE5, but, might work for IE6 as well -

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I had previously tried the
first part of your suggestion & it didn't work. However, the 2nd part, re:
Encompass_ENCMONTR was a SUCCESS. It just so happens that my CPU is a
Compaq. I never would've thought that something in the Startup Utilities
could be causing this problem. Thank you again for your help.
