Recently I allowed a student to play with my system as they said they had
never seen XP Pro in use and needed to use some of the admin features for a
project at school. They are very computer literate and fixed a few problems
on my system while there but now every time the phone goes in my house it is
answered by my computer modem. I suspect he may have set this up to access
my system remotely whey I am not in. I disabled his account which had admin
rights so even if he did dial into my system he would be refused access.
Can anyone tell me how to turn this service off?

Yes I suspect he will have some explaining to do. If he had asked to do it
as an experiment to prove he could do it I wouldn't have minded but it looks
very different doing it without asking. Thanks for the advice I will get
him to put things back as they were when he returns then delete his account
from my system. Most people on this group appear to have problems getting
connected mine is the reverse.
Thanks again
Nigel Geraham

First I would temporarily disconnect the PC from the telephone line...

You should be able to go into Network Connections and delete the Incoming Connection...

What you do after that, to the student that is, is up to you...:-)
