anyone know how to disable users from savings docs to
their desktop using GPO?

Thanks!

Steve

Hi Steve-

You can do this in Windows Server 2003 by going to this location in the
Group Policy Editor:

User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows
Explorer->Common Open File Dialog.

The setting is "Items displayed in Places Bar". This setting allows you to
edit the selections provided to the user in the common open file dialog when
the user does a 'Save' or 'Save As'. For your purposes, I'd suggest adding
only the few (or only) locations that you wnat them to save to at all.

Once caveat is that this setting is only applicable to Windows XP Pro and
Windows Server 2003 machines.

Please repost if this doesn't fit your needs.
