Is there anyway to disable the computer locking function
on Windows 2000 professional? The function is causing
problems because we need data on display 24 hours a day,
but people can't see that data when the screen locks every
5 minutes and someone has to enter the password to get to
the regular screen. If there is a way to disable the
function it would be a great help.

The screensaver is configured to do that. You can go to control panel/display
properties/screensaver and disable password protected. If this is a domain
computer it can also be disabled in user configuration/administrative
templates/control panel/display settings. You also may want to disable it in
Group Policy user configuration/administrative templates/system/logon/logoff -
disable lock computer which will keep funny people from locking the computer.
For a non domain machine, local Group Policy is available via gpedit.msc ---
