I tried to install Vista Business Edition (I'm currently running XP
Professional) I receive a message to disable c:\user before I can install
VISTA.

I don't know how to do that.

1. You are attempting to do an upgrade install from within Windows XP?

2. You currently have a folder called "user" located at C:\?

3. If #1 is true, then the message from the Vista installer is probably
saying that there is a conflict in having this folder. Vista keeps all
users' home directories in C:\Users\user-account-name. Posting the exact
text of the error message will be your next step so people trying to help
you don't have to guess what is really happening.

4. Did you run the Vista Upgrade Advisor first?
5. Did you back up all your data first?

More information from you is needed.
