Disable automatic search for network printers

Tried this under printers and faxes and got no response. Maybe its a config
and manage issue:

We are on a SBS2003 network with 45 - 55 users logged in at any one time.
Some of these users work regularly using TS and I would like to restrict the
printers that show up as available to them. I have read through Article
Q320138 and it seems that this is unavailable to a network of over 32
computers but I was wondering if there is some other fix? ie. registry or
utility/service.

Hi Rob,

Do you mean unchecking the "Automatically Search for Network Folders and
Printers" option does not help?

I believe the very feature (automatic searching of network printers) itself
is disabled if more than 32 computers with shared resources are detected on
your network.

Sorry I took so long to respond but have not been able to open this thread
until today. Yes, nothing I do seems to stop the automatic search which
leaves the printers folder loaded with printers that the users shouldn't see
and just confuses them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rob,

If I understand correctly, the printers installed the server (SBS2003) are
automatically added to the client systems? You may try this in SBS, with
cross post to Terminal Services newsgroup to check if someone has the
solution already.
