Hi.
I have Windows XP.

When I get into MS Access, click on "Blank Database" to
create a new database, type in a file name and hit
CREATE, I am prompted for a username and password.

However, when I type in any user of the computer and the
corresponding password, I recieve a message that the
username or password is not valid. I am 100% confident
the the username and passwords being typed in are correct.

I've tried uninstalling MS Office on the computer and
reinstalling it again, but I still get the same message.
Can you offer any advise? Can this mysterious username
and password be deactivated somehow so that it does not
lock up the entire tool?

By the way, when I log in, I log in under the admin
account?

Locate all workgroup files on the computer (*.mdw). Then use workgroup
administrator (Tools, security menu) to see which one you are currently
joined to by default. You can click on join to rejoin the default
system.mdw file (it is usually in the windows system folder).

Check if you are using the default System.mdw.
It is possible that you are joined the wrong workgroup file.

Pieter.
