It depends on whether you have XP Pro or Home Edition. In XP Pro, you
can set many fine-grained permissions using the Group Policy Editor
(gpedit.msc). Be extremely careful with the Policy Editor - it is
completely possible to lock *yourself* out of the system.

If you only have Home Edition, look at MVP Doug Knox's utility, XP
Security Console and see if it will do what you want. You can get it
under his Utilities section at http://www.dougknox.com.

You haven't given us any information about your system, or whether you
want to do this on your home machine, a few office machines, or 3000
machines. If you want to do this on a large scale like for a school
computer lab or office workstations, consider using DeepFreeze from
http://www.faronics.com/html/product.asp.

Hi Malke
Thanks for your response.
I use Win XP Pro. And it is in a school environment and it is for about 100
machines or so. But we are using clones so distribution shouldn't be any
problem.

Then create policies with gpedit.msc.
