Hello,
Iam Ajish from kirkykitty games. We are facing a burning problem
and wishes for support.

Coming to our problem - As we all know Windows Vista is going to be released
worldwide very soon- As per the info recieved DirectX7 based games like
Mazescape shown on our website
[http://www.kirkykitty.com/downloads/Mazescape_setup.exe - Download size 569
KB] is not working on the RTM build[Vista Build 6.0.6000]. They were working
fine on XP and previous Windows opertaing systems. Is this a known issue
for DirectX7 based games - or is it because of any administrator issues -
are their any standard solutions available -

We will eagerly look forward for a solution.
Thanks for your time,
Sincerely
Ajish G Habib

Hello Ajish,

You may well be having issues with user rights. Does the game require
administrative rights to install and/or run? Have you tried installing with
administrative rights? (Right-click on the installer and Run as
administrator). If it installs correctly, then does it play correctly with
or without administrative rights?

If the game keeps users scores, then where do these scores get written/saved
to? Under Vista, all such data must be written to the Users directory, and
not to the Program Files directory. This is part of the new security model.

Ideally, the game should not require Administrative rights to be installed
or played. A standard user should be able to install and play. The
following link is to a download for a document which will help you
understand UAC compatibility for applications:

Dear Jane,
Many thanks for your mail! We will try to check this and will get
back to you as soon as possible! As we don't have a RTM copy testing is bit
difficult :(
We need the help of some benevolent vista users. :)

Thanks once again!
Sincerely
Ajish

Dear Jane,
Thanks a lot for your help. There were some minor UAC
compatibility issues and we have solved them all. Subscribed MSDN and
checked the new version on Vista - everything works fine.

Thanks
Ajish
