directx upgrade

Am trying to upgrade to directx 9.0 (new software
requires 8.1 or later) Win2000 machine is not connected
to internet or LAN. Downloaded Directx 9.0, wrote it to
a CD and put it in the 2000 machine. When I try to
install I get the message "Setup could not download the
file. Please try again later or check network
connection." What gives? Is there something else (not
immediately apparent) I need to do? Thanks.

What's the size of the directx file ??

If it's not ~ 32MB, you have just the loader program.

I'm trying to do the same thing - Where can someone get
the FULL DirectX 9.0 program instead of just the web
installer? If you find out let me know at
