My system consist of Pentium 4/2.0 Ghz 512Kb RDRAM, ATI 7500
Radeon AIW card with MMC 7.5 drivers, SB Audigy player
+ IEEE1394 card and Windows XP home preinstalled.
XP home is up to date. I tried to update to MMC 7.7 but it don't work
good with my card.

The system works perfect until I installed the patch DirectX9b,
after installation of 9B the setup of the TVtuner ( part of the ATI card)
has been changed into NTSC instead of PAL and the 3D and AGP
acceleration are switched off.

It's not possible to to the correct setup. Maybe more things are
changed I don't know because I have only checked these. After
a check with the DirectX control panel everything shows okay.

I have reset my system with system recovery and it works fine
again.

Please advice what's going wrong and how I can update DirectX
without changing my ATI and destroy a good working system

This is a known problem. Fix should be on Windows update.

groups.google.com or a little scrolling in your newsreader should get you to
a similar question with a response.
