DirectX 9.0b Problems

R

Rob

I decided to pick up a old favorite game of mine recently
which requires the newest directx.

Well I downloaded it, and it simply won't install. I'm
running XP Home Edition 2002 and everytime I try to
install it, it gives me a error message about the
software not passing Windows Logo testing and won't let
it install.

I've tried to find something about it on the web, but
didn't find anything. I've tried a bunch of different
drivers to see fi something about them was doing it.
Basically I've been working on it all day to no avail.
Help would be awesome! ;)

Hi,

QUESTION:
==========
I'm running XP Home Edition 2002 and everytime I try to install it, it
gives me a error message about the software not passing Windows Logo
testing and won't let it install.

SOLUTION: (You must be logged in as Administrator or a user with
Administrator rights)
==========
1. Click Start -> Control Panel
2. Switch to 'Classic View' (if you are viewing the 'Category view')
3. Click Administrative Tools, select 'Services' icon
4. Right-click 'Cryptographic Services' and from the menu, click 'Start'
5. Now perform the installation of DirectX once the service is started.

Hope this helps ...... :)

Where did you download it from?
Windows update or the DirectX website or somewher else.

Try turning off the Logo Testing feature via System control panel.
See Hardware, Driver Signing section.
