Hi
I have a vaio laptop AR-350 which comes with windows vista home premium and
Nvidia Ge force 7600. Here is my problem:
Some games like Bioshock have an option to use Directx 10. But on my
computer these options are always turned off. In the game manual it says this
option is available when Directx 10 in enabled. I checked the Directx
Diagnostic tool and it shows Directx 10!!! Is there anything I'm missing
here???

The GeForce 7xxx isn't a DirectX 10 card, so it'll only work in DX9 mode.
You'll need a Radeon 29xx or GeForce 8*** card, but at the moment DX10
performance with all the available cards is pretty sluggish so I wouldn't
rush out and buy one just yet anyway.

You also need hardware that supports DX10, the NVIDIA 7600 chipset in
your laptop is DX9...

yeah, hard to update a laptop also. You have a great system, you're not
missing too much, and there's really no nVidia 8800 model for laptops yet
which is the level you really need for DirectX10 enjoyments.

Just to echo what everyone is saying, you're not missing much. Vista has
DirectX 10 installed, but you need the card and a game that supports Dx 10
for it to use it. Fortunatly there are no games that Require DirectX 10,
probably won't see those for a year or more, even Crysis was just announced
with DirectX 9 support.
