I have a couple of large directories in the root of C: that are marked
read-only, for no apparent reason. I didn't explicitly set them that
way, nor did I create them by copying from CD, etc. One is Program
Files; the other is one that I created named Pictures. I'm logged in as
admin, and all admin rights are wide open. When I go to Properties for
either of the directories, I can clear the read-only flag, but when I
apply it and close the properties dialog, the directory is still
read-only. I can create and modify files under those directories, but
certain programs get their undies in a bunch when they see the
read-only flag. What am I missing? Registry editing is fair game
here....
W2K SP4, no programs running that care anything about those
directories, so I'm at a loss to explain or fix it.
