Hello all,

I used the tutorial at indezine.com describing how to import a director file
into powerpoint. This worked pretty well but, I can't seem to add any
animation to my director object.

I am using Powerpoint XP and Director MX.
go here to find some files to work with if you are interested in helping me
out:

Any help would me greatly appreciated...thanks!

Please tell us the steps that you follow to try to add animation to your
director object. What happens when you do it? What isn't working for you?

Okay...heres more detail:

I inserted a ShockwaveActiveX control from the control toolbox and under
properties put my director file in the SRC. My movie plays fine, but I
cannot add any custom animations to it because the option is not available
for this type of object.

Is there anyway around this. I can place my director movie anywhere on the
slide, but I can't add motion to it like I would a regular object.

Thanks!

Thanks for clarifying. No, when you click an object, which in this case is
a control, and then go to Custom Animations, only the animations available
for that object type will be active. As you've learned, there are some
objects which cannot be animated at all.

Okay thanks for your responses!

One more thing: Is it possible to have the director object appear after a
period of time in the slide...maybe have the VISIBLE property change after a
delay using a macro of some sort? Im not a programmer and I really don't
know about macros.

Thanks again for your help...you guys rock.

You could make a duplicate the slide andput the control on the duplicate.
Set the original to transition after X seconds, and when the duplicate slide
pops up it will visually seem that the control just "appeared" on the slide.
