I have foolishly installed Direct X 9.0 and I can no longer play any of my
sims games. I need direct X 7.0, how can I uninstall 9.0 and where can I find
7.0? I tried to go to add/remove programs but it's not listed there.. What do
I do? Please help.

DirectX itself is backwards compatible meaning that it works with all
software written for previous versions of DirectX. All machines should be
running the latest version just for basic maintenance reasons. The Sims
itself works fine with DX9.

The first thing to do would be to post a dxdiag file. If you go to Start
-> Run
--> type dxdiag and press enter
---> press save all information on the new window that will come up and then
either attach that file or paste it into a reply and we can have a look at
what's going on.
