parallel port, and how do i access the file on the host
computer. both computer are running win XP, one is home

Hello!

You can use Highspeed parallel or USB cables for file transfer. This is more
faster than a serial cable. You can access the computers using the same
\\computername

Another alternative is to use a crossover NIC cable if both computers has
network card
