I tried to connect two computers running win2000 through the parallel ports.
I followed the windows help instructions and the computers connected but I
cannot see any computers on the network (when I double click Computers Near
Me none of the computers are shown and it says that "the workgroup is not
accessible and the list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available"
How can I access the files from the host computer since I cannot "see" the
host computer at all?

Why bother with the parallel ports, for £20 you can stick in a couple of
network cards and link the PC's with
a crossover cable.

IMHO trying to get DCC working is nothing short of a pain as I once found
out.
