Dimage Scan Dual II

I am unable to install Dimage Dual II software. I get error=5, could
not confirm scanner connection.
This is the first time I am trying to use on my XP machine...help

ensure scanner is plugged into a USB2 port

ensure scanner is turned on

If I recall the process (for the non - II) they specify that the s/w
should be installed, the computer re-started and then plug in the
scanner and turn it on. eg: do not have the scanner on when you install
the Minolta s/w.

It may be the same for your case.
