I've just migrated from Win98se to Win2k. I have a
Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 (DSS80) which I used
with Win98. Can this system be used with Win2k? If so,
how do I install or find drivers, etc.? Seems MS has very
little info or support on website for DSS80.

You probably mean drivers for your sound card.
DSS80 software will not work with win2k, see link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;q254305

Thanks for the reply.

Wow, I'm really confused with the above reference, which
says: "Although the DSS80 hardware can work properly on a
Windows 2000-based or Windows XP-based computer, you can
only install the software on a Microsoft Windows 98-based
computer."

Can anyone tell me how I can get DSS80 working "properly"
on my Win2k computer if I cannot install the software for
it? Can I copy it from the files it was installed under
Win98?

Not knowing about the DSS80 I assume the software they are refering to is
something to do with eg tone/balance etc. Copying files frm a win98 install
will allmost certainly not work.
Have you checked your soundcard for problems? ie as you upgraded did you
download win2k drivers?
