digital signature

I am doing a job application and it is asking for a digital signature. I
don't seem to be answering correctly. I don't understand how to do it.

Tools menu>Options>Security tab, remove all references to using a digital
ID>Apply>OK.

Or

Tools Menu of the message window>deselect 'digitally sign'.
