I just bought a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium. It is a 64 bit system. I
know that DIS 2006 works on the 32 bit version of Windows 7, but will it
work on the 64 bit version?

I received the following message from the MS
PIX Team soon after DIS 2006 was released...
I suspect it applies to Win7 64-bit also.

DIS 2006 will run on x64, but certain features
such as disk burning and Photo Story will not
work because they are incompatible with 64-bit.

The following links may be your solution:

Windows 7 - Windows Virtual PC / Download Windows XP Mode

Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool

Thanks for your response.
I don't use DIS for those features anyway, so it looks like it will be OK
for editing and printing. But your response made me nervous about my Roxio
Media Creator 10 software that I do use for DVD burning and movie making. Do
you know if it has a compatibility problem with 64 bit?

As for Roxio...if you have Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 that was
released in 2007...it's hard to say. I guess you'll just have to try it.

Maybe the following Roxio forum would be useful:

If you have the current 2010 version you are safe:
Windows® 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate (32-or 64-bit)
