How do I get the words to spell vertically so I don't have to tilt my head. I
can get the words to go vertical within the Text box but I can't find the
mechanism to make the letters read vertical. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe you are rotating the textbox?
Don't rotate it...try dragging your textbox
handles to make it tall and narrow...
choose center alignment.

Thanks John, I will give it a try. Yes I was rotating the box. I wanted the
words to look like this
T
h
a
n
k
s

J
o
h
n

I tried it but no good. thanks for the suggestion. there has to be a way to
do it. this should not be a hard one to figure out.

One last thought when I did not rotate the text box and then put in the first
letter I would then hit enter to get to the next line. this worked but the
letters where spaced out and vert thin even though I had it on 48 font and
bold.

Yes, it does work...I do it quite frequently.

Create the textbox...enter the text...drag
the handles to make the box tall and thin
until the text aligns itself one letter over
another. Finally...select all text and choose
center alignment.

Got it. it worked. Thanks. Now is there a way to get the letters closer
together? they look a little far apart and does not look normal. Also if I
wanted to give the letters some shadow or 3d effect is there a tool I can
use. I am think as in Word one can do a lot of effects with titles etc.
Once again thanks for the help.

You need to experiment with the program.

You can change the spacing horizontally at...
Text / Font / Character Spacing...

And vertically at...Text / Line Spacing.

Also you could try a different font. And I
think vertical text looks best when using
all caps.

Text / Font / Font tab / Shadow...

Once again thanks for the help.

You're welcome...

And remember...experiment with the program...
it's quite versatile.
