Digital ID's in Active Directory?

Hello~

If I am using encrypted e-mail with say, Microsoft Outlook
or Outlook Express (not using an Outlook server), and I
have a contact with with a digital ID in my contacts list,
I can go to the properties for that contact and see the
digital ID's there. Is there any way to store digital
ID's for contacts found in Active Directory? Please keep
in mind these are only contacts, and they are being used
for encrypted e-mail. Thanks in advance for any help you
can provide.
