I have a Casio QV-3000EX. I plugged it in and it
installed, but when I try and download the pictures it
says either that the camera is in use, or when I try it
through 'my pictures' it says that it doesnt find a
camera installed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Maggie

You may need to set a download mode on the camera, read the
manual.

An inexpensive alternative...
Buy a card reader (for the type of card used by your camera).

It will appear as another drive letter in Windows Explorer; the images on
the card are files.
They can be viewed, moved, copied, etc. just as any other file.

Saves camera batteries as well, and the hassle of hooking up the camera to
the PC.

Hi,
Thank you for the advice. I read the manual and it did
not have anything about a download mode or anything like
that - nothing that seems to address the problem.

Q: Do I need to use Photo Loader?
A: No! Assuming your camera is connected to your computer
with a USB cable, your camera storage is accessible directly
(as a drive letter under Windows) from any program on your
computer. It's not a good idea to keep all your images and
edited versions on your camera however, but you can use
Windows Explorer for example to copy images directly from
your camera to your PC's hard drive (instead of Photo
Loader).
