Digital camera, corrupt photos

I tok about 40 photos on our digital camera one friday
night, got them home on the saturday plugged the camera
in and went to drag my first photo when my computer
froze. I did the ctrl+alt+delete thing and then went bak
to the folder again and there was only 30 pictures i
could open and the rest called weird things like '30jpg'
when usually its 'IMG0030.JPG' and they wont open. I
tried searchin for the programme to open them with but it
wouldn't have it...
Any ideas???

Try renaming them to the exact same format used by your camera. Select a
number not already in use.
Right click on the file, click on rename on the opening menu and type a new
name using the same format (cap letters included. To make sure you don't
have the same number as an existing file, rename the first:
IMG99901.JPG
Take a good look at the name of the file, it should be 8 characters followed
by .JPG
