How are you handling the power problem? Are you powering the
camera from an AC power source of some kind?

For the rest of you, what I'm talking about is that a webcam runs
constantly and takes its operating power from an external source,
such as a "wall wart" or the computer itself Digital cameras run
off batteries, usually rechargeable. They are famous for runing
their batteries down quickly. Many digital cameras can only be
used with proprietary batteries that cost deep, deep drains of
personal finances (a classic "gotcha!").

yes, it can be dangerous .)

the kodak (aaa) and the canons (aa) run on batteries as cameras, but for
downloading pics can connect to the pc via usb (despite with the canon i
normally use the cf's) and are powered by the pc itself. so i just connected
the kodak to an usb 1.1 slot.

with the a70 a charge can last for a week, depending on the use, i rarely
use the flashlight. and even if i have the spare set with me, i can buy 4
aa's anywhere and get another full day of use.
