Difficulty importing .pst archives into Outlook 2003

New laptop has Outlook 2003. Archived mail from Outlook 2002 on old machine,
saved files on new machine. Outlook 2003 fails to import .pst file - warning
is "is not a personal file". Same problem for large and small .pst files.

Don't import - Open them in Outlook using File->Open->Outlook Data File.

How did you save the files? Did you copy them to a CD? If yes, remove them
and uncheck the read-only tick mark. Did you export them from your other
Outlook installation? If yes, was Outlook completely closed?
