Difficulties in setting W2k + XP network

I have a server running W2k, connected to the internet
through an ADSL, working fine. My laptop (running XP
Home) accesses the internet through this server (which is
running WinProxy 4.0) with no problems. I can also ping
the server from the laptop and vice-versa. The problem is
that I can see the laptop from the server´s "Network
Places" but am not able to see the server from the
laptop. The error message says that I am not authorized
to access the server and that it is not configured for the
transaction. This not only stops me from using my network
printer from the laptop but makes it very difficult to
work in this small, home, network. I had everything
working fine, installed by default, but had to format and
re-install both the server and the laptop, and cannot find
the solution, now. Anybody has any ideas or suggestions,
please?

XP-Home cannot join a domain. Upgrade to XP-Pro.

I know this won't help you but I have a question. I just
bought a laptop with XP Pro and my desktop has 2000 Prof.
I am trying to set up a wireless network with a Belkin
router, but I can't seem to be able to get the
laptop 'connected'. Is XP Pro and Win 2000 pro compatible
for this...I would hope so...Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers.
