Diffferent Colours in Plot Area

I am trying to set up an SPC chart that when a value is out of limits it is
plotted in a red zone.

Y axis 0-100
0-75= red out of limits
76-85= green in limits
86-100 = red out of limits

x axis 1-31 days of the month

I can get close to what I want using an Area chart but lose the grid lines,
must have the grid lines.

I have also tried using a line graph and used semi transparent drawing to
put the colour in, this works but if you change the values use have to
redraw the coloured area.

any help would be most appreciated, thanks

Hi Roy,

Try using 3 dummy data series plotted as a stacked column, with a gap
width = 0.

The values would be 75 / 10 / 15

Very similar to the approach you would have used with the area charts
you mentioned.
Now even when using columns, instead of area, the gridlines are
obscured. To get round this create an autoshape rectangle. Format this
to have no border and a semi transparent fill. Do the red colour first.
Select the shape and CTRL+C to copy it. Then select one of the 'out of
limits' columns. Use CTRL+V to paste the autoshape as the fill.
Repeat for the other column. Then change the autoshape to green and repeat.
You should now have the colour banding and still be able to see the
gridlines.
