simpe question realy...
is a pc running windows home edition (this being the
computer whos printers and cable-internet would be shared)
able to support a computer running the proffesional OS
over a home lan?

All versions of Windows can network with each other. XP Home and Pro
can share files, printers, and an Internet connection.
