Here are four ways to terminate a disconnected session. However, keep in
mind that any data in any running session applications will be lost. All
these methods require you to be logged onto the Terminal Server as an
administrator (unless the session you are disconnecting is your own).
1. Run Terminal Server Administrator, select the disconnected session and
reset it.
2. In Terminal Server Connection Configuration, you can set a global option
(in minutes) under a connections Advanced properties for Connection
Timeout. This option is off by default. If you set a value here, a
disconnected session will be terminated when the specified time elapses.
Setting a value here affects all new users on this connection.
3. In User Manager, you can set the same connection timeout value on a per
user basis.
4. At a command prompt you can use the RESET SESSION command.
