different newgroups

I have just got my windows vista set up , it seems this newgroups is only
for microsoft related issues , my old outlook program I could click on tools
, then newsgroups and type in a subject and get to a newsgroup , what am i
missing ? is there something I need to do to get to other newsgroups ? if I
type in china for example nothing comes up...sorry for the newbie question ,
but what happened to the newsgroups that were on the old windows outlook
program ?? and how to I get to those newgroups

Maybe you are accessing the newsgroups
from the Microsoft server:

msnews.microsoft.com

In Windows Mail in Vista, the Microsoft newsserver is automatically
configured so you can immediately get help on MS products. If you want
other newsgroups then you need to set up another newsserver via Tools |
Accounts | Add | News and then fill in the required parameters. That will
give you the newsgroups provided via your ISP.
