Different network display

I am working on a computer that is attached to a network withing my office.
The computer I am building the site on is not the server. I've been checking
my layout on another computer just to make sure that everything is turning
out okay. I've got it all set up for one computr then the next one shows a
jumbled mess all over again. Can anybody tell me what is going on? Also,
how will I know how it looks on different computers when it is published? Is
that just a guess and check system or what? Thanks to anyone that can help.
 
You will know when you publish it, if you view it at different
computers, screen resolutions and browsers. The more you do up front to
acount for these issues, the less you will have to do afterwards.

The one that causes the most problems is the screen resolution. Do a
google search for "web page design for screen resolution? w/o quotes.
